The General Directorate of Ports of the Generalitat of Catalonia, commissioned a bioremediation test for the elimination of diesel on port waters.

The test was carried out in the port of Vilanova i la Geltrú. In order to carry out the test, a water plot of about 100m2 was delimited in a dock by oceanic barriers. A quantity of diesel oil was poured over it. At the same time in another area of the port, a lesser flotation ring was built and diesel oil was poured without treatment. This allowed us to observe the differences between one treated area and the other untreated.
